Who we are

Aiir Innovations is an innovative startup from Amsterdam founded in 2016 that develops artificial intelligence B2B software for the inspection of aircraft engines. We provide our customers with the capability to automatically perform double checks of their inspections, whether that is while the inspection is being performed, or as an after check to compare with the inspection report. This way Aiir intends to be a digital safety net, catching defects that the human eye may have missed, ensuring that the quality of engine inspections is kept on the highest level, worldwide. Working closely together with customers like KLM, we are bringing artificial intelligence to the aviation industry.

The team currently counts 8 people, with a relatively young average age of 30 years. From our office in the centre of Amsterdam, we’re giving our all to bring our innovative AI solution for engine maintenance (MRO) to customers all over the world. That is why we are looking for a ‘Head of Business Development / Sales’ who wants to continue and accelerate this growth together with us.

The Job

As Head of Business Development / Sales you are primarily responsible for the acquisition of customers, for connecting new partners and other ways for Aiir to grow. Since we are a young company and your role will be in direct contact with the market, you are continuously working on how Aiir can improve on a strategic and product level.

You will be making contact with customers and showing them the benefits of using our software and figuring out if and what value they are still missing in the product. After making first contact, you’ll also work on setting up trials, proposals, quotes and usage agreements.

Beside customer contact you will be working on shaping the value proposition and how our products can be optimized to create an even better fit with customers. It is your job to continuously identify what customers/markets would benefit the most from using our products.

Hence, the job includes both business development, sales and marketing aspects. Communicating with and traveling to large aviation corporate customers all over the world. And, since we are a young, fast growing company, in your role you will closely interact with the founders and be involved in many aspects of running a startup business.

  • Contacting new potential customers
  • Negotiating deals with (new) customers
  • Building a strong sales network (e.g. by visiting international events)
  • Account management for existing and new customers working closely with the customer success / product team.

Product (20%)
  • Providing the development team with product feedback from customers and prospects
  • Brainstorm about product improvements


  • Entrepreneurial and commercial mindset
  • Relevant working experience in a commercial or strategic role
  • Affinity for aviation
  • Affinity for technology and innovation
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills; not afraid to follow up
  • Fluent in English, any second language is a plus
  • Autonomous, structured and organized
  • Willing to travel to customers all over the world
  • Experience in MRO, engine leasing and/or suppliers is a plus
